Vanuatu Cricket Continues Commitment to School Cricket Development

Vanuatu Cricket continues to demonstrate its commitment to grassroots cricket development by providing students across the country with the opportunity to learn new skills and enjoy the game in a fun and engaging environment.

As part of this ongoing initiative, Vanuatu Cricket has recently visited Central School and Melemaat School in Port Vila and Saint Pierre School in South Santo. These visits have introduced students to the fundamentals of cricket, fostering their passion for the sport while promoting teamwork, discipline, and physical activity.

“We believe that cricket is more than just a game—it’s a platform for personal growth and community engagement,” said Pierre Chilia, Development Manager at Vanuatu Cricket. “Through our school program, we aim to inspire the next generation of cricketers and provide them with the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment.”

The school cricket program includes coaching sessions led by development staff, interactive drills, and friendly matches designed to build confidence and enthusiasm for the sport. By bringing cricket to schools, Vanuatu Cricket hopes to create a lasting impact, nurturing young talent and strengthening the future of cricket in the country.
