The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) has launched the Bountiful Car Rental Santo Community Cup at Luganville Field, Santo. The tournament, supported by Bountiful Car Rental Santo and Vanuatu Agricultural Supplies, features separate competitions for men and women this December.
The Men’s competition starts today and runs until December 13, while the Women’s competition will follow from December 16 to 20. A total of eight teams—four men’s and four women’s—will compete in the event.
The competition is being rolled out by VCA’s Outreach Officers based in Santo, who have been working on this event for months. Their efforts aim to further develop cricket in the region and create opportunities for local players to participate and excel.
The prize pool for each competition totals 55,000 Vatu, with awards of 25,000 Vatu for the winning team, 15,000 Vatu for second place, 10,000 Vatu for third place, and 5,000 Vatu for fourth place.
“This competition is an important part of our calendar, and we are grateful to Bountiful Car Rental Santo and Vanuatu Agricultural Supplies for their support. The dedication of our Santo-based Outreach Officers has been crucial in bringing this event to life,” said a VCA spokesperson.
Matches will be held at Luganville Field, and spectators are encouraged to attend. For updates and results, follow the Vanuatu Cricket Association’s social media pages.
